The latest data shows 27 children have died in the U.S. from the disease since September. The department began keeping a record of the number 17 years ago, and this year is the highest since. Officials at Linn County Public health said if you are feeling flu-like symptoms, you should be staying home from work or school. I can admit, I have been guilty of working while sick in the past. They also said to make sure you've had your flu shot, even if you're afraid of needles like myself. It;s still early in the season to see the flu peak, which usually doesn't start seeing that till late Jan or early Feb.
